Their true significance beautifully, gently, and dramatically unfolds as you immerse yourself in His life and teachings.

A Note on Spelling and Quotations:
Sanskrit words frequently have a variety of English spellings. such as Gita or Geetha, Sri or Shri, and Bhagavan or Bhagawan. To prevent confusion, we have used the spelling chosen by the author or editor of each particular book discussed. Therefore, spellings may vary.

A Note on Prof. Kasturi:
Kasturi is a name the reader will find frequently mentioned throughout the catalogue. An author, professor, historian, dramatist, and long-time devotee, he edited the ashram magazine Sanathana Sarathi and wrote several books on Baba's teachings, including the four-part biography The Life of Sathya Sai Baba. He also edited and translated Sathya Sai Speaks, the Vahinis and the Summer Showers series.

SATHYA SAI SPEAKS SERIES VOLS. I - XVII

These 17 volumes contain hundreds of discourses given by Sathya Sai Baba from 1953 to 1984. Topics range from service to devotional practice to Eastern philosophy. Interspersed with profound thoughts and moving descriptions of life are Swami's "little stories" about saints and sages.

Swami calls his discourses not speeches but 'conversations', for the audience actually prompts the subject matter. Their views and visions, faith and strength, ideas and enthusiasm shape the style, content, and flow of Swami's talks. He draws from the heads and hearts of the thousands in his audience the doubts that haunt them, the prejudices that weaken them, and the desires that enslave them. And when he closes His 'conversations', doubts are dissolved, prejudices are withered, and desires are dismissed as worthless. Whether you hear or read the discourses, their impact is equally powerful. (S)

DESCRIPTION OF THE VAHINI SERIES

Vahini, in Sanskrit, means "stream". These writings are Swami's streams of thought on a range of subjects: meditation, right action, wisdom, peace, divine love, and Hindu scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and the story of Rama. The Vahinis originally appeared in the ashram's monthly magazine Sanathana Sarathi (The Eternal Charioteer). (S)

DESCRIPTION OF THE SUMMER SHOWERS IN BRINDAVAN SERIES

During the 1970's, Sathya Sai Baba initiated a series of Summer Courses on Indian Culture and Spirituality at Brindavan, His ashram in Whitefield, outside Bangalore. These were open to students from all over India as well as to observers and guests from around the world. This series contains all of Swami's discourses from these courses.
