Spirituality in Prasanthi Nilayam, the Abode of Supreme Peace, is a way of life. Aumkar (the chanting of Om 21 times) starts at 5:20 a.m in the temple (mandir), followed by Suprabhatam (invoking the Lord of Parthi). A small group of selected devotees circumambulate the temple and Sai Baba's residence, chanting Vedic verses, starting from the temple and ending at the Ganesh temple. Simultaneously, Nagarsankirtan takes place: ladies and gents, in separate groups, walk around, almost following the Vedic chanters, singing devotional songs (bhajans).
Vedic Recitation is held in Sai Kulwant Hall from 08:00–09:00 hrs. in the morning and 17:00–17:45 hrs. in the evening. Bhajans follow until 09:30 in the morning and 18:30 in the evening, after which Mangala Arathi is offered to the Lord.
Devotees are allowed to come in a line for a close viewing of Sathya Sai Baba's Mahasamadhi after Arathi.
